The State of Pulmonary Health in Jackson, MS
People in Jackson suffer from low overall lung health and are twice as likely as the average American to be uninsured and in poverty. Studies estimate 14 percent of people in the city experience chronic lung disease.
Despite this prevalence, there are just 26 pulmonologists practicing in the city.
